Dr. Nikhil L. Shah DO, MPH

Dr. Shah has performed thousands of procedures improving the genitourinary health of both men and women. His specific interest and expertise in Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) procedures allows patients the opportunity to consider less invasive treatment with substantial improvement in quality of life.

Dr. Shah completed his undergraduate training at the University of Michigan and Medical School at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. In medical school, Dr, Shah received a highly coveted research award funded in part by the National Institutes of Health. His training in General Surgery was at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and followed with subspecialty training in Robotics, Laparoscopy and Urological Oncology at the Vattikuti Urology Institute at Henry Ford in Detroit. During residency, Dr. Shah additionally completed a National Institute of Health-National Institute of Diabetes and Kidney Urologist-Scientist Research Fellowship at the University of Michigan. In addition, he has earned a Masters degree in Health Management & Policy at the University of Michigan’s School of Public Health.

Dr. Shah is the recipient of numerous awards and has authored many peer-reviewed publications. He is acknowledged as an established leader in minimally invasive surgical applications. He holds an adjunct Professorship at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Shah serves as the President and Founder of the Men’s Health and Wellness Center of Atlanta, a not-for-profit organization that works towards educating and informing men in disease prevention. Dr. Shah has made several appearances on CNN with Dr. Sanjay Gupta regarding the ageing male and living with quality.

As a global leader of the health and wellness, Dr. Shah has been particularly focused on the benefits of complimentary treatment options such as CBD, Medical Marijuana and Ketamine to name a few. His involvement has been primarily with neurologic and mental health afflictions such as: traumatic brain disorders, CTE, PTSD, depression and chronic pain. Dr. Shah has focused on educating, evaluating and supporting patients (and their partners) as they deal with chronic medical issues, including the aftercare designed to heal their body, mind, and spirit. His passion stems from the fact that few, if any other health problems have affected so many across such a vast spectrum of epidemiological, financial and sociologic sectors as have suffered from the neglect, awareness and “in-action” of these illnesses.
